We have written many times about John Dee and his contributions to the esoteric community.  However, this is the first time that we are delving into a work of his that is called Monas Hieroglyphica.  For those of you who have no idea who I’m talking about, John Dee was an Elizabethan Magus and Court Astrologer under Elizabeth I of England.  I invite you to do a little more research than that on the matter, though.  Search the name John Dee and you will inevitably find a wealth of information about him.  

Today we will be talking about John Dee’s self-made symbol that he called the Monas Hieroglyphica.  It is a glyph that he created to represent the Moon, the Sun, the elements, and fire.  In one of his greatest works ever, Dee attempted to explain the significance of the glyph in a book by the same name.  However, the book was written in just 12 days and is a bit obscure.  It’s almost as if John Dee either wrote the book as a textbook to accompany a lecture or that he wrote the book with such ambiguity on purpose, as to somewhat elaborate on Monas Hieroglyphica without giving away its full secret.  

One thing is for sure.  Dee saw his glyph as a unification of the cosmos.   Above and beyond that the glyph represents a certain level of enlightenment that humanity can ascertain if they want to.  The power to achieve this enlightenment exists within the unification of the human mind and body with the cosmos.  In other words, being able to allow the cosmos to exist within you and to allow your body to conform to the energy of the cosmos.  
To embrace the cosmic and enlighten the mind, you must first embrace an element in your body called the Mundi nexum.  The Mundi nexum is kind of like a third eye and it exists within the mind.  The piece we are offering will allow you to activate the mundi nexum, which lies dormant in most humans, but will no longer be asleep within your own mind.  In awakening this part of your mind, you will be able to develop a connection to the Cosmos that allows you to control it.  In controlling the Cosmos you will gain many secret talents that you didn’t realize were possible.  

For starters, the Cosmos will allow you to unlock innate abilities that you didn’t know you had.  It will allow you to rearrange and shift your form on the astral plane into any other form you wish to become.  It will allow you to create your own energies with can then be turned into various types of magic it also allows you to summon any kind of spirit that you want or their powers and abilities, as all spirits exist somewhere in the cosmos.
